From 16 to 24 January 2026, Révfülöp, Hungary hosted the Smart Lab in digital skills, AI, and entrepreneurial mindset, an Erasmus+ training course designed to equip participants with practical, future-oriented competencies. The programme combined non-formal learning, experiential methods, and team challenges to strengthen the skills that matter most in today’s rapidly evolving work environment.
Participants engaged in simulations, design-thinking activities, gamified business exercises, and guided reflection, all aimed at developing communication, collaboration, digital competence, responsible AI use, and an entrepreneurial mindset focused on turning ideas into action.
A central element of the training was a gamified business simulation, where participants worked in teams to move from identifying real-world problems to shaping a product or service concept. Using tools like the Business Model Canvas, collaboration platforms (Mural, Google Drive, Trello/Notion), and AI tools for research, idea generation, synthesis, and drafting, participants experienced a realistic workflow that integrated technology and ethical practices.
The training culminated in a pitch moment, where teams presented their concepts, practiced giving and receiving constructive feedback, and reflected on their learning outcomes, which were documented in a Youthpass-aligned format for future use in work, projects, or ventures.
Participants had the opportunity to explore a wide range of AI tools, collaboration platforms, and digital methods during the training. Dan, a participant from the Republic of Moldova, shared what excited him the most:
“All the AI tools that I've learned about because I know the basic ones that everyone knows, like Chat GPT, Gemini and so on. But we learned a lot of new ones, like Trello. So I think those are very good things that we were taught.”
The programme was guided by Ádam Rikter, a seasoned international trainer with extensive experience in entrepreneurial competencies and soft skills development. Reflecting on the value of such trainings for newcomers, he said:
“I really recommend applying and taking part. It's going to be a life-changing experience. My first project was in 2014, and I started to be addicted for a few years. You can travel to many countries, meet new people, and improve your skills. You will have experiences like no one who has never tried Erasmus+ international projects.”
These insights highlight the practical, cross-cultural, and skill-building impact of the Smart Lab in digital skills, AI, and entrepreneurial mindset, providing participants with tools and experiences that extend well beyond the classroom.
