Life is bringing more and more challenges for young people, such as unemployment, terrorist attacks, refugee crisis, violation of human rights, intercultural misunderstanding in a very diverse world, and these are only the major challenges that young people have. In this situation young people feel frustrated and abandoned, outside of the community life, that might lead to segregation and violence. Youth workers are playing a key role in helping young people to deal with frustration and become active citizens, they help to overcome difficulties and to grow through challenges, through youth training they help to develop a “survival” set of competences: those that cannot be developed in any other circumstances such as tolerance, mutual understanding and respect, non-violent communication skills critical thinking and many others.
Though the role of youth training can hardly be exaggerated in the nowadays situation, the world of youth trainings is also developing, reacting on the current tendencies and challenges. One of those is critical thinking that is an essential skill and basis for personal and professional development and for peaceful behavior. One of the instruments that can help youth workers and youth trainers to become more efficient in the process of developing critical thinking of young people is better use of visual thinking instruments, such as infographics, doodling, graphical recording and graphical facilitation. That phenomenon already exist and bringing very good educational results, but not many youth trainers know how to use those instruments and how to apply them to the efficient youth work.

Objectives:
– To increase awareness of use of the visual thinking tools in youth work and training
– To learn those tools and how to apply them to concrete youth training practice
– To create a common “graphical vocabulary” that can be shared with more youth trainers and youth workers afterwards
– To explore what is doodling and how to draw the simple images
– To explore what is graphical recording and how to use it in youth trainings
– To learn what is graphical facilitation, and how it works
– To become more self-expressive and to reduce risks of misunderstanding
– To learn how to stimulate critical thinking with graphical tools

Why Visual thinking skills are important for youth trainers, facilitators, NGO members?:
Visual thinking is a way to organize your thoughts and improve your ability to think and communicate. It’s also about using tools — like pen and paper, index cards and software tools — to externalize your internal thinking processes, making them more clear, explicit and actionable. There’s more and more information everyday than ever before, and yet young people are overwhelmed by it. When faced with too much information we shut down. If your ideas can’t be drawn, they can’t be done. Visual thinking is a vital skill for developing new ideas and projects, communicating those ideas effectively, and collaborating with others to make them real. The first course will take place in Russia; the second course will take place in Armenia.
The project objectives are directly reflected in the activities objectives, as the first activity that is planned to be held in Russia and will focus on the following topics and themes:
