About the project
Armed conflict in the Middle East forced people to leave their place and try to find not even better but at least safer life. Most of them chose Europe as place to move. But big flow of refugees in Europe brought to objective and subjective challenges. Unfortunately, not all the citizens of European states welcomed refugees
with open arms targeting them on personal conversations, protests, media and causing big psychological damages, therefore these people gain reflex of protection and the gap between locals and refugees is getting wider and deeper. On the other hand many locals don’t support European policy to provide refugees with shelter, humanitarian and financial support consider it as unfair towards own citizens. The Youth Exchange “From Home to Home” aims to give you the opportunity to “feel yourself in someone else’s skin” – namely in the situation of a person of an ethnic minority. It will involve 37 youngsters from Belgium, Armenia, Romania, Georgia, Hungary, Ukraine and Czech Republic coming together for 8 days of intensive collaboration in Armenia.

Objectives
– to involve youth workers in the process of intercultural dialogue
– to better understand the current refugee situation in Europe
– support process of rehabilitation and integration of refugee groups
– to create awareness of prejudices towards minorities in European societies
– to understand the emotional situation of minorities, cultural shocks
– to encourage young people to become active in their home communities
– empower with methods and technique to overcome personal and group conflicts
– to foster communication and presentational skills
